Obituary of Denise Hogg

Obituary It is with profound sadness that the family of Nadine Denise Hogg, 53, announce her passing on January 29, 2018 at the Fort St. John Hospital. Denise was born in Summerland, BC on December 1, 1964. She is predeceased by her Father Gary Smallshaw of Kelowna, BC. She is survived by her mother Winona Gillander, residing in Kamloops; Sisters Leilani (Don) of Vernon, BC and Jody (Peter) of Moose Jaw, SK. Along with her caring husband, Dan, she is survived by their three children and soon to be eight grandchildren; Daughter Danielle (Wade Gaboury) her son Tanner, Daughter Daphne (Jason Steiner) and their three girls, Kenzi, Dani and Tylee, and Son Daylon (Larissa Hogg) and their children Graycee, Harvey and Weston. Denise met her husband, best friend, and love of her life, Dan in the fall of 1980. He didn't ride in on a white horse- more like a bucking bronc. They were married at the People's Mission Church (FSJ) in 1985. Making the north their home, she was well known and respected in the community and on the golf course. She had many true and beautiful life long friendships - far too many to mention. Close to her heart and often by her side, Pam, Geri and Liane were her besties and they provided a source of strength and courage. A wonderful woman, her warm smile and tender ways were a magnet and she thought of strangers as friends she hadn't met yet. Denise loved children and after raising her own she worked at Alwin Holland Elementary as an Educational Assistant. She was dearly loved and cherished by the many students, staff and parents that she was involved with. Denise was a lover of life and although cancer invaded her body it could not rob her spirit. We will carry her memory in our hearts forever. Funeral will be held at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Fort St. John, BC on Tuesday the 6th of February, 2018. As per her wishes she will be joining her father in law and extended family members to rest at the Canyon View Cemetery in Summerland, BC.
