My dad is Elwoods uncle and he would like to share a memory when Elwood and Betty first came to bc he said Elwood and him cut stud timbers using a horse in the bush and sold them to a mill in Tappan bc he said Elwood was a good worker and they worked well together and lots of laughs. This was 1962. The horse's name was Madge.

As Betty's youngest sister I was only 3 when Betty and Elwood married and 4 when they moved to BC, so my memories are of the times they came back to visit and when as an adult I visited them. The memory that Elwood always shared with me is of that year as newly weds before they moved to BC Betty and Elwood would have the baby sister stay with them. Elwood would always laugh about how just before Betty was to get in bed I, as a 3-4 yr old, would jump in and laugh and say to Betty "I took your spot". Although I have no actual memory of that time it was heart warming to me that, that memory was important to Elwood and that he always remembered me as the "baby" sister. Although the times together were few over the years I loved my big brother (in-law)Elwood and love my wonderful sister Betty. All my love to Betty and my nieces and nephews, Susie, Doug, Sandy and John and their spouses and children.
