Obituary of Terrence Brown

Obituary Terrence John Brown December 8, 1945 - May 28, 2018 After a long, hard-fought battle with cancer, Terry passed away peacefully on May 28, 2018 at the Fort St. John Hospital. Born in Fort St. John, BC on December 8, 1945 to Wesley John Brown and Rosaline Louise Brown (nee Beck), he was the third of 6 children. Terry spent his life in Fort St. John and area. His passions included hunting, roping and his family. He worked in the oil patch for his entire career in many different fields and was invaluable to those he worked for and to the colleagues who worked beside him. Much of his 20's and early 30's were spent guiding hunters, flying planes and running his own outfitting company. He has always loved horses, and in the past 20 years became a fixture in the team roping community around Fort St. John. He never missed an opportunity to get out and chase some cows! Terry loved helping the younger generation get their start in roping. Family was always Terry's number 1 priority. Being a grandpa was his greatest joy! He loved telling them stories and teaching them about horses, roping, building things and life in general. Terry is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marilyn; his sisters Peggy Ashdown (Kelly) and Penny Babcock, his 5 children Pam Edwards (Clint), Elizabeth Engelbertink (Remko), Beverley Robertson (John); Caroline Beam (Derrek), Wesley Brown (Felice), his 11 grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Wesley Brown, mother Rosaline Brown, his sister Joan Schreiner, and brothers, Harold Brown and Danny Brown. A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on Saturday June 2, 2018 at 2:00pm. Western casual wear is welcome. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made in memory of Terrence to the Fort St. John Palliative Care Society.
