Obituary of Magdalena Wuthrich

Obituary With Joy and Sadness we say "Uf widerluege!" to our sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Magdalena (Madlen) Wuthrich March 4, 1929 - August 3, 2018 She was born on the family farm "Talweid" in the village of Haefelfingen Switzerland. She was the second of seven children. Madlen met Karl and they were married on March 14th 1952. Over the next four weeks they packed up their belongings in preparation of a long journey, ship, train and DC6 to Fort St John, BC where they joined her sister Ruth and husband Otto on their farm. Helping them on the farm as they scouted out for a farm of their own. In the spring of 1953 they moved onto their own farm in Grandhaven south on the dump road. They farmed there for 17 years and added more land on the Beatton Park Road and in 1969 built a house and moved there. Mom had a contagious smile that exuded unconditional acceptance and "glad to be with you" to anyone she encountered. Children were especially invited to the end. At the age of 50 she was diagnosed with MS and fortunate for her was of the slow progressing kind. She did not stop until her beloved husband stopped and retired in 1996. The two of them travelled many places over the course of the next 3 or 4 years until the travelling was too much for her. She is survived by her siblings; Ruth Wuthrich, Lilli (Phillip) Zumbrunn, Margaret (Wayne) Johns and Alfred (Leni) Hofer, children; Harry (Cheryl) Wuthrich, Catherine Bauer and Timothy (Moneen) Wuthrich, grandchildren; Crystal Wuthrich, Martin (Tovah) Bauer, Robert (Terri) Bauer, Stephanie (Martiall) Bauer-Pitts, Alisha Wuthrich, Peter Bauer, Lynay Wuthrich and Joshua Wuthrich, greatgrandchildren; Uriah Bauer and Ansen Bauer. She was predeceased by her parents; Christian and Frieda Hofer, brothers; Ernst and Willi Hofer, husband; Karl Wuthrich, grandchildren; Joel and Megan Wuthrich, Son-In-Love; Eberhard Bauer. We the family would like to extend a huge thank you to our supporting communities far and near.
