So sorry for your loss. Mimi was a very important teacher in my childhood. She taught me Slavey from grade 4-7 and I loved her classes. When I heard of her passing today I regretted not sharing with her how valuable her teaching was to me and that now as an adult I realize she was one of only two people (My Grandma Emily being the other) who taught me about my heritage and who I was. I am so thankful for her kindness and her example of a powerful and beautiful First Nations woman. How brave she was to teach and lead in our ways in a world that would not yet appreciate or welcome or honour its value. She was a true pioneer! my prayers are with your family today.
