Obituary of Dan McCormick

Obituary Dan McCormick passed away surrounded by family at the age of 51 on January 18, 2019. The way he died is just the way he lived, he wrote his own rules, pushed the boundaries, and paved his own way. And if you said he couldn't do it, he stubbornly would make sure he could. Dan's generosity, kind spirit, sense of humour, and gift for gab touched so many throughout the years. His most proud achievement in life was marrying his wife Ilda Oliveira McCormick who lovingly supported him on all his ventures during their 27 years together. His sons Clayton (23) and Justin (20) were his pride and joy and he passes along to them his love of fishing, the outdoors, fine food, collection of guns, knives and every type of animal you could think of. Dan and his family made Fort St John their home for the last 22 years where Dan established McCormick Ventures Ltd. his successful business, which he was so proud to pass on to his son, Clayton. Outside of Fort St John, Dan's most absolute favorite places to be were Langara Fishing Lodge and enjoying family time in Maui. In addition to his wife and children, Dan is survived by his sister Lisa McCormick and her husband Keith Wilbur (Whistler, BC) grandparents Eleanor and Al Thompson (Fort St John, BC) his aunt Susan Thompson (Fort St John, BC) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Don and Lynn McCormick. A memorial service will be held for Dan on January 28, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Pomeroy Hotel and Convention Center, 11308 Alaska Road, Fort St John, BC.
