I met Penny in grade 8. We were in the high school future nurses club and then went on to nurses training together. Our first positions were at the Fort St John General Hospital in April of 1971. Penny excelled at nursing and worked in the first Intensive Care Unit. She taught a course in Intensive Care Nursing of which I was a student. I always looked up to her and respected her intelligence. She was the influence for my interest in Intensive Care Nursing. Penny was gracious, lovingly firm, and had a wonderful sense of humour. I shall miss her and our visits
