To the Thiessen family, my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Bernie. I was lucky enough as a 17 year old to have worked with Bernie at Acklands in FSJ, then working for Bernie when he joined up with Bob and Curtis in opening Patch Automotive. Bernie was the grounded, stoic faced, voice of reason, money man of the operation. And I think that was probably a good thing as I remember back at the shenanigans that went on when the other three were around. Bernie was the rudder that kept the ship going straight, but he always had a well timed joke or smile just when you didn't expect it. He also taught me another first lesson that as a 18 year old I had never faced. When his young son Bruce was tragically killed. I watched a man in obvious pain will himself to carry on with life. Knowing he had others depending on him. This was a long time ago, but I've never forgotten Bernie and have often thought about that moment in time and how it changed the way I sometimes see life. You were a good man Bernie. (-:

My condolences to Mary and the family for there great loss , I will always treasure in my memory the times after the radio station meeting talking to Bernie privately he was an important branch in the birth of the radio station always offering valuable opinions , he was respected by everyone on the board so when I think of Bernie psalm 133:1 comes to mind he was in the family of God He always made me feel welcome Bernie so long for now

The Thiessens were one of our first neighbours about 46 years ago. I think we were neighbours for about four years, then it was us that moved, not Thiessens. Bernie always showed a smiling, friendly face whenever we met him throughout all the years since. He was a quiet man with a ready laugh. Our heart condolences to Mary, Vicky and all their family.
