Obituary of Adaura Rejean Cayford

Obituary Adaura Rejean Cayford Forever our shooting star! It is with great sadness that we announce that Adaura Rejean Cayford took her last breath at 11:55 p.m. on July 1, in the arms of her Mom and Dad, surrounded by the love of her family. Adaura was born early in the morning on Monday, July 26, 2010, the youngest of Richard and Isabelle Cayford's daughters - the A Team - Angelina, Anabel, Alexandra and Adaura. Right from the beginning Adaura was Daddy’s little girl, his partner in “crime”, and Mommy’s little footsteps! Adaura was adored by Grandpa Arthur and Grandma Daphne Cayford, Papie Réjean Boivin and Mamie Gisèle Couture, Auntie Janet Cayford, big cousin Kelly Cayford, Uncle Bruce Cayford and Auntie Brandy Patterson, Auntie Saunya Boivin and Uncle Guy Lemieux and her Québec cousin Lydia Lemieux Boivin, and her great aunts and uncles and their families. Adaura had a forever friend in her cousin Lily, was so proud to be a big cousin to Owen, and deeply touched the heart of cousin Kelly's partner Henry Thriscutt. Adaura touched many hearts, and was even a teacher to some, during her time at Totem Preschool and École Central Elementary. Adaura will never be forgotten by her very best friends Rhyden Gunn and Natalya and Brianne Andrew and will always be a little sister to Emily Ruehl. Adaura danced and competed with her sisters Angelina and Alexandra with Danielle Fox at Studio to Stage, and was a force to be reckoned with on the soccer field. Adaura loved their family dog Whiskey and was Mommy to her very own Daschund who she named Oreo. Adaura loved the colour purple, watching movies, playing soccer, dancing in the kitchen, Sunday morning pancakes, swimming at the beach, and adventures with her family. Most of all Adaura loved her family and was the thoughtful, caring glue that held them together and will continue to keep them close with her amazing spirit. Adaura was diagnosed with DIPG, an incurable brain cancer, in August 2019 and fought a long hard 11 months against this devastating cancer. A virtual Celebration of Life has been planned for Saturday, July 11 at 1:00 p.m. with a Vehicle Parade to follow from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Adaura's entire family is eternally grateful to everyone in the Fort St. John and Armstrong communities, and beyond, who offered their time, donations, love, support, thoughts, and prayers to help them through this incredibly difficult time. Adaura’s favourite colour is dark purple so everyone is encouraged to wear purple and join her family to celebrate Adaura's beautiful happy life and the impact she made in bringing so many people together. Those attending a Celebration of Life location in person will be welcomed to approach Adaura's urn to say goodbye or lay their own flower or memento. In lieu of flowers, donations to support the family in covering expenses to celebrate Adaura's life would be appreciated (etransfers may be sent to isaboi@telus.net). All remaining funds will be used to begin charitable work in Adaura's name.
