Obituary of Garry Callison

Obituary With heavy hearts we announce the passing of long time resident and pioneer, Garry Callison, who passed away February 12, 2021 at 83 years of age. We will forever miss his guidance, kind heart and wisdom. Those wishing to make donations in Garry's memory can do so to the Fort St. John Alzheimer Family Support group or the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia. Our papa bear is gone. We will miss our rock. He was always the first person we called when in a spot and needing advice. He was a great hand holder. His joy of travel, adventure, good food, family and friends was infectious. He spent many special times together with Lee in Canada, Oregon, Hawaii and Arizona. And with Greg on river trips to Virginia Falls on the Nahanni and Kinuseo Falls on the Murray, A trip to Nova Scotia, hunting trips at the Turnagan, Sikanni, Williston lake and many more. He shared his love of music. He loved Roger Whittaker and could hold his own whistling. Sad to think we won’t hear him whistle that special tune he used when he was looking for us. Or the Sunday morning phone call when the newest bad joke was delivered. Through him we learned to love the outdoors and animals. Ski boat rides on the Okanagan in Kelowna; visiting the grandparents ( Lash and Winnie) at the Halfway ranch; river boat rides on the Peace; fishing and riding horses into the hunting camp at Rose lake, Yukon. Dad was not always an easy man to love but watching him care for Ruth through her last years with dementia, we saw the depth and heart of the special person we called dad. Services
