Condolences to the family. Your mother was a gem, beautiful lady inside and out. Although we bonded over Avon, (I had been an Avon Representative during the 1970"s) I was also her Visiting Teacher on and off 20+years. Love going out to visit her....she was so peppy and enjoyable to be around...a real people person. That's why she excelled selling Avon. As her Visiting Teacher, I related to your mother in a different way than most who knew her only from Avon. We had many a long, deep talk about many different subjects from religion to politics, very intelligent, open minded lady, who was also eager to learn. She always spoke her mind, had her opinions which she relayed with a smile. That was her key, her wit and smile. If someone disagreed, I mean who could argue with that smile? Her acceptance of others, her zest for living, her kindness will be remembered by many. There were times she needed things fixed or built, my (now deceased) husband Cliff would go help her when she asked, and a couple times when she hadn't asked but he seen she needed something fixed. I think one was to do with her back stairs, can't remember all the details. She loved her family! Although I never met most of you, she would keep me updated anyway......by showing me pictures or telling the latest accomplishment. She was so proud of her kids. Her face would light up as she spoke of someone coming to visit, or something good that had happened involving family. She never ever had a bad word to say about anyone....so positive of a Lady. When I started having health issues a few years back, I could no longer be her Visiting Teacher, or even go out for a visit. Phone calls are just not the same. I love the pictures you chose for this. One I would not have know her as, the beautiful young lady, but the other picture with the big smile is the Ruby I know and called my friend.Rest in Peace Ruby, rest in peace

My deepest condolences to the family. Ruby was my Avon lady for over 35 years, and I will always remember her with a smiling face. I admired her bravery in living life beyond Elmer's tragic death for so many years. She is an example of courage and strength to me. Beautiful inside and out. Rest in Peace Ruby.
