Mary Isabelle Knutson
Passed away on October 2, 2021 at the age of 93 years.
Mary will be missed by her sons: Gerry (Melody), Dick (Gloria), Brian, and daughter Patty; grandchildren: Clinton (Sabrina), Lindsay (Paul), Ben, Jason (Jody), Matthew (Emma), and Amanda (Dwight); and great-grandchildren: Kordell, Camryn, Isabelle, Chase, Taylor, Carly, William, Amelia, Eli, Elsie, Khole, and Brody. She is also survived by her brother Jack (Connie) and sister Laureen (Jim).
Mary was predeceased by her husband Ben; parents Chum & Isabelle; son Dennis; and brother Jim.
Mary was born in Lacombe, AB. She married Ben Knutson on November 1, 1946. When they met, Mary was a nurse at the Lacombe hospital and Ben worked as an Alberta Forest Ranger. They lived at the Forestry Ranger Station near Rocky Mountain House AB. After that they moved and worked throughout northern AB and northern BC in the oil industry for most of their lives. They lived in Fort St. John for the past 48 years.
Mary worked as a counsellor for many years and supported many individuals during their life storms. She lived in the Lutheran apartments for the past few years. Mary is known for her love and laughter. She enjoyed a very active life with her family. especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed curling and swimming and she watched many of her grandchildren's sports games. She was often the first to suggest a ball catch game in her apartment living room with the Great Grandchildren.
At Mary’s request there will not be a service . There will be an internment to follow in Lacombe, AB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Mary to the
