Obituary of Susan Unruh

Obituary Susan Unruh Sept. 16, 1937 – Dec. 21, 2021 It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Susan was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Swift Currant Sask. She grew up in the Takysie Lake BC area, where she eventually met and married the love of her life John Unruh. They married in Takysie Lake on her birthday in 1956. As a young lady, Susan enjoyed working in her grandparent’s store at Takysie Lake. Susan came to know the Lord in January of 1959. She has walked with Jesus every day of her life since. Susan loved children and loved to teach children in her Sunday School class. Before starting her own family, she was always babysitting. Susan and John loved taking in children for short periods of time while the parents dealt with different issues and life events. Susan also loved to cook! If there was a wedding or funeral, you knew that Susan was helping in the kitchen and with serving the meals. After having their first son Rick, John and Susan spent a year working in the Bible School in Steinbach Manitoba, where she worked in the kitchen. They returned to the Burns Lake area, where they continued to grow their family. Susan would spend the rest of her life raising her family and continuing to help where she could at Island Gospel Fellowship Church in Burns Lake BC. After retiring, John and Susan moved to Fort St. John BC where she lived out the remainder of her life enjoying retirement and watching her four grandsons, that she loved so much, grow up. Susan is survived by her husband John, sons Rick (Sheila), Roger (Margie), daughter Karen, grandsons Brandon, Tyler, Zachary, and Liam. Susan also leaves behind two brothers, John (Mary), and Jake (Dorothy). Susan’s kind, gentle, and loving way was felt by everyone who knew her. She let her faith shine through everyday in the way that she lived her life. She will be missed so much by all her family, but we can smile when we think of her wonderful new life in heaven with Jesus! Funeral services for Susana will be held Tuesday, December 28 at 2:00 pm.
