Our deepest condolences to Jill, Ed and Bud's vast family as he touched many people through his life,I was fortunate to have met Bud in 94 and became instant friends. Over the years we shared great times fishing, playing cards or pitching horseshoes. I was a good listener while in his presence and i can still hear his "gems" of wisdom. "Balance is the key" my boy is one my favourites. There where dozens of sessions of card games with the guys that he enjoyed with lots of laughter as we enjoyed "fellowship" together.Over the years he would quite often have an Ace to win a poker hand and became affectionately know as "ACE Vennes"Thanks for all your help over the years, I will always remember you as a classy guy. See you on the other side.

Very, very sorry to hear of Bud's passing! My deepest condolences to Jill, Ed and family, as well as to all who considered Bud a friend! I first met Bud way back in the late 60's! The Vennes' were the first family to build on our block on 105th Avenue and we were the second family, our house being built right across the street from them! Back then, Mr. and Mrs, Vennes gave me one of my earliest jobs and I must admit that it was a pretty good gig, I simply walked across the street and did my homework at their place in the evening while apparently also babysitting Carol and Jill. When I think back on it now, I was paid "cash" as were and are most young babysitters, but I have to admit that tonight I find it mildly amusing that way back then, I was paid "cash under the table" by one of Fort St. John's most prominent accountants, haha! Rest in Peace, Bud!
