Jimmy was predeceased by his parents Jack and Charity Rose Kobar (The Pas, MB), brother David (Helen) Kobar, sister Patsy (Ray) Fortin and brother-in-law John Bacso (Fort St. John, BC). He is survived by his loving wife Lisa and sisters May Glover (Calgary), Jackie (Hank) Dromberg (Prince Albert, SK), Mary (John) Gibson (Prince Albert, SK), along with many nieces and nephews from both sides of the family. Jimmy was born in The Pas, MB, one year after WWII ended, to Jack Kobar, a private in the war, and Charity, a war bride from England. Jim worked as a linesman at CN Rail before moving to Fort St. John, BC, where he worked at BC Rail until he retired. In 1973, Jimmy met the love of his life Lisa, who was visiting from Hungary. She couldn't speak English and he couldn't speak Hungarian, but over a short time they were able to communicate very well. They married in 1973 and enjoyed 48 years of marriage. Together Jim and Lisa like to travel and made many trips and memories at different destinations. Jimmy took pride in keeping his yard and home beautiful, living the simple life. Jimmy enjoyed the simple life and loved his sports such as hockey, baseball and was an avid golfer. He would often brag of how many games he could play in a season. In his early years Jim was known to be quite mischievous. He loved to play pranks on the neighbors, but unfortunately, he always got caught!
