Obituary of Lea Leflar

Obituary It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother, Lea Normandeau Leflar, on May 23, 2022. Lea was born in Radville Saskatchewan on March 10, 1943. Lea was one of eight children of Armand and Alice Normandeau. She was predeceased by her four brothers, Albert, Raymond, Roland, Dave and her sister Janet. Lea is survived by her husband Wayne, son Darren (Claire), daughter Tracy (Steve), daughter Kim (Jim), sisters Theresa (Brian) and Carmel as well as 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Wayne and Lea were both raised in Radville, though they didn’t start dating until they had both moved away. There were only two schools in the tiny Saskatchewan town and they were quite the rivals. Lea went to the Catholic School and Wayne went to the public school. As kids growing up we used to listen to stories and maybe a little bantering between mom and dad about whose school was better and out would come the school plates. Lea began her nursing in Pincher Creek and continued her nursing in Red Deer before joining Wayne in Fort St. John in July 1965. They were the last couple to be married in the old Catholic Church on December 29, 1965. Lea was nursing at the Fort St. John hospital until the birth of their first child Darren. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children. Lea was the best “GG” to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to bake cookies and made sure that she taught us all her baking secrets. Baking was a passion of Lea’s and she loved to spoil her grand babies with cookies, banana bread, and chocolate cake and of course her trifle for family dinners. We will cherish our beautiful memories and forever hold her in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vancouver Children’s Hospital - Click Here to donate. Services
