Obituary Grant John Martin passed away suddenly at Victoria General Hospital on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the age of 57 years. Grant was born Tuesday, May 25, 1965, in New Westminster, BC. Beloved husband of Cheryl, father of Spencer and Keira. Grant is survived by parents John and Elsie Martin, sister Connie, brother-in-law Craig (Laura) Edey, mother-in-law Donna Edey, uncles Gordon (Diane) Martin, Phillip (Eileen) Walker, many cousins, a niece and nephew, and many "brothers." He will be missed by all. You only have to listen to the stories being told to know that Grant touched many lives. Grant's exuberance, mischievousness, and love of life were cherished by all who knew and loved him. His sense of humour permeated his life and approach to the world. "Too soon?" was one of his favourite questions after many a particularly humorous story. He never failed to make us all laugh until we had tears in our eyes. Grant was lucky to be chosen by John and Elsie and brought to the farm in Montney, BC where he spent many a day avoiding chores, riding tractors and horses, and shooting things. From hockey to golf player, dart fanatic, music enthusiast, animal devotee, Ed-beak drawer, Gran Turismo driver, prank puller, scuba diver dude, guitar/drum/bass and keyboard rockstar, cat meow-er, un-certified English tutor, campfire expert, horseback rider, farmer, king of all organized clutter, tarp & rope master, camping guide, rock climber, apple pie & cheese admirer, milk chocolate ice cream fan, pro chocolate cake maker, cancer fighter, a true comedian, coach, protector of all his family, husband, father, and one of our best friends. He was our biggest cheerleader and will be missed but never forgotten. In accordance with Grant's wishes, cremation will be taking place and Grant will go home to Montney, BC to be laid to rest with his grandparents and uncle. A celebration of life will be held at Grant's parent's home in Fort St. John, BC on July 4, 2022 from 12:00 pm on for his "northern" family and friends. There will be a gathering in Duncan, BC on September 17, 2022 for his family and friends from that area. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
