We are so lucky and blessed to have known Dave; he was truly one of a kind.We have fond memories of Dave in the late sixties and spending time with Dave and Nancy when they travelled through Blind River. Dave kept everyone in stitches. And always with a straight face! Still think he should have written a book about his many adventures; it would definitely have been a best seller. He will be missed.

Dave was a big hearted personality from his days I worked with him in Kenora with the Ministry of Natural Resorces to his time as District Manager in Fort St John BC. I will always remember the kind hearted gesture that he and Nancy did of providing our son a place to stay while he worked on his sucessful apprenticeship as an InstrumentTechnologist in Fort St John as I also moved to BC also working for the Forest Service. Our thoughts go out to Nancy and the family. Dave will be missed but remembered fondly

Thinking of my Aunt Nancy and my cousins Jamie, Laura, Jason and their families with the loss of my Uncle David. Definitely one of my favourite people and the biggest personalities I have ever known and a bonus to share the Lawson name with him. Uncle Davie inherited his tenacity from my Grandfather and his compassion from my Grandmother but his sense of humour was one of a kind. I will miss my weekly jokes and political commentary but will spend a day with my father in the very near future to hear more stories about this amazing man.

So I figured that I had to plant a grove of trees in Dave's memory. And I didn't want Dave's tree to be lonely so it will be surrounded by four others representing Nancy, Jamie, Jason and Laura Jane. Dave holds a special place for me. He kept me alive on the org chart during the 2003 upheaval when things looked pretty bleak.I owe him alot because it allowed me to set my career in the direction I wanted.

Dave came to Fort St. John as the District Manager for the Ministry of Forests. It was a tough time in the management team and I was last person standing. He brought a lot of laughter and stability back into my job and world. But man was he a time management problem! I would go into his office next door to mine to discuss something and about 10 minutes in, he would say

Always loved being around Dave this man my old boss was a great guy. The MNR years and then trips with our trailers to Arizona. Our first trip to Mexico was with Dave and Nancy. Then the last couple of years a daily dose of hilarious jokes on my email, some were just priceless but they were so Dave. This part of our lives are over and we were truly blessed to have known this man.

Dave was my District Manager at the Ministry of Forests here in Fort St. John. I always appreciated how he would come into the office coffee room and initiate a chat with us. When the Province closed our office, Daves primary focus was to tell staff that the main priority was for them was to land on their feet when the office closed and whatever help we needed , we just needed to ask. Thanks Dave, I think everyone did land on their feet .

A Memorial tree was ordered in memory of Dave Lawson by Barry and Rita Neville. Plant a TreeIts a Sad day that we knew was coming. It is never easy to cope with the departure or understand the rational for factors that escalate the inevitable. David was a unique individual that we had the pleasure of meeting while wintering in Yuma Arizona. Over the years they stayed with us while enroute. I always enjoyed his company especially at cards, or golf or cooking. I will miss his texts especially before during and after hockey games. Rest in peace my friend. Investigate the reason for being called up long before your time. I will enjoy finding out the reason but I will not hurry to hear it. Till we meet again. Dave is gone from our sight but never from our heartsBarry and Rita Neville
