Obituary of Lorna Lorraine Fisher

Obituary Lorna Fisher 1965 ~ 2023 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorna Lorraine Fisher (Carr) on January 25, 2023 at the age of 57. Lorna was born in Sudbury, ON, on Dec 1, 1965. Her family moved to Chesterville, ON in 1969 and lived there until 1974 when the family moved to Fort St John, BC, where she has spent most of her life. Lorna and her former husband, John Fisher, moved to Nelson, BC. They then married and started their family and had 2 beautiful daughters, Chelsie and Carly. They spent much of their time in the Nelson area camping, boating and fishing with their friends, and family. In 1997, their first daughter Chelsie was born and the family soon relocated back to Fort St John. Lorna and John married in 2000 and soon after welcomed their second daughter Carly. They raised their daughters on a rural property 30 minutes from Fort St John and passed on their love for the great outdoors. Lorna had a beautiful spirit, a generous heart, and a smile that would light up a room. She had an infectious laugh to go alongside her quick wit and awesome sense of humour. She loved music and loved to dance. She was a proud mother and even prouder grandmother. Her heart was full when she was with her girls. Lorna met her current partner Skip (Myron) Bliss in 2016 and the couple immediately fell in love. Her last years were spent with bliss – literally! Lorna and Skip shared a passion for music and dancing and the couple attended numerous dances, music festivals together. They purchased a motorhome and spent February 2019 travelling across the US. On April 1, 2021 Lorna’s life was changed forever with a Stage 4 Lung and Brain Cancer diagnosis. She will always be remembered for her courage and strength during her 22-month battle. Lorna suffered immensely but she fought so incredibly hard to be able to watch her granddaughters grow up. January 14, 2023, Lorna was admitted to the hospital, and peacefully passed away surrounded by family on January 25th. She is survived by her daughters Carly Fisher, Chelsie Fisher (Austin Crook), partner Skip (Myron) Bliss, sisters Terry Mantle (Greg Mantle), Ann Garrett (Allen Wozny) former husband John Fisher (Sharlene Marshall) her grandchildren, Phoenix and Jasmine, nephews Tanner Garrett, Wyatt Garrett, Megan Carr, Amanda Carr, Kaiser Koch (Charlotte), Jaeger Koch (Sara), Cristy MacDonald (Jay), Michael Francis and many close friends.
