Obituary of Malcolm Michael MacNeil
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Malcolm Michael MacNeil
Malcolm was born on a cold, snowy day at 11:30 pm in Grande Prairie AB to Michael and Ruth (Kirscht) MacNeil
His dad was in Equador SA working for Williams Bros on the biggest, highest (Andes) pipeline in the world at that time, so his Uncle "Pete" had to drive his mom to the hospital.
When Malcolm was 6 weeks old he and his mom flew to Quito Equador to join his dad.
When Malcolm was about 6 month old he got very sick and had to be on intravenous fluids for 10 days, so mom decided to take him back home and when his dad returned we bought a acreage at Huallen Corner AB. In 1972, Patrick and 1976, Paula were added to the family.
We moved to a acreage by the Rodeo grounds ln Ft St John, BC in November, 1976.
Malcolm and Patrick played regular and rep hockey for a number of years, baseball and of course there were dirt bikes and skidoos too.
Malcolm usually was a heavy equipment operator in the oil patch or pipeline.
He started a family with Sherri Cramer from Sydney BC who had a 9 yr old son Cody. Kalyn was born in 2000 and the twins Mitchel and Michael in 2004. They parted ways after a few years and he had a long distance relationship with his kids that wasn't easy on him.
Two years ago he had stroke and rare blood clot and a heart problem that was discovered and things kinda went down hill for him after that.
He died October 23, 2024 as a passenger in a horrible accident caused by the impaired vehicles driver.
He is survived by his children, brother, sister, mother, nephew Brian Low and long time girlfriend Liane and her children
A celebration of life and his "heavenly" 54th birthday will be held on November 29, 2024 at 1 pm at the FSJ Seniors Hall 10908 100st .
Malcolm was cremated and a memorial Monument will be placed in the family plot at Emerson trail AB.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to funeral costs would be appreciated.
