Obituary of Allan Blair
Lynn Allan Blair, aged eighty-three, of Charlie Lake BC, passed away on October 19, 2024, at the Peace Villa Residence.
Allan’s service will be at Hamre’s Funeral Chapel, 10315 102 St. in Fort St John BC on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 11:00 am, BC time. Mary Parslow will be officiating.
Allan was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan, to Dorothy and Wilbur Blair on April 27, 1941. He was the eldest of four children. His siblings include Berna, Bill, and George Blair.
He went to high school in Pathlow, Saskatchewan, finishing grade 12 in Melfort, Saskatchewan, and graduating in 1959. He went on to earn a degree in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in Animal Science.
Allan worked as an Agrologist in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and BC. Allan had a special interest in swine, developed from his time growing up on the farm, where he oversaw caring for the pigs.
His final working years were in BC, working as a Senior Agrologist, where he collaborated with different stakeholders to develop a plan to establish the Muskwa-Kechika management area.
Allan was one of the founding members of the Charlie Lake Conservation Society, continuing to participate in this organization after retirement. The Conservation Society awarded Allan their first lifetime membership.
Allan enjoyed dogsled racing, canoeing, playing cards, rodeo events and many other outdoor pursuits.
Allan is survived by his wife, Arlene, his children: Andrew (Michelle), Avery, Aaron, and Amber (David),
his grandchildren, Rebecca (Darren), Sean (Glenn), Jackson (Martina), Jess, Kyra (Trent), DarylAnn (Mike), Janine (Cory), Milo and Hannah,
and his great grandchildren: Arista, Alexis, Dailen, Tavian, Kayden, Violet, Lucy, Mabel, Denver, Maverick, Elzora along with nieces and nephews.
Allan was pre-deceased by his parents Wilbur and Dorothy and his brother Bill.
