Obituary of Pamela Anne Laplante

In loving memory of Pamela Anne LaPlante

May 25, 1964 - October 7, 2024

Pam passed away at the Fort St. John hospital on October 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born in Fort Nelson, BC, she spent most of her childhood and early adult years in Prince George, BC.

Pam was predeceased by her beloved parents, Arsene Joseph LaPlante (Sam) and Catherine Sophie LaPlante (nee Smith), as well as her precious son, André Paul Dupas. She was also reunited in spirit with her two cherished dogs, Poopers and Baby Girl.

Pam’s heart was as vast as her friendships. She is survived by her best friend of many years, whom she lovingly called her sister, Jackie Rawlings, and her dear friend, CK Shetty, whom she affectionately referred to as her son. Her passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of her many dear friends and cousins. Pam also had three half-siblings—Marcieta (nee Beirle), Dwayne Beirle, and Dwight Beirle—whom she unfortunately never had the chance to know.

A tireless worker, Pam found joy in every task. She dedicated many years to the janitorial department at Pine Centre Mall, eventually finding her passion as a camp cook with Royal Camp Services. Her love for cooking brought her to Fort St. John, where could be closer to her job. When opportunities arose, she also cooked for other companies, restaurants, and even at the Fort St. John Hospital, where her culinary skills nourished and brought joy to many.

In the last few years, Pam faced life’s challenges with remarkable strength, battling a life-altering disability that made walking difficult. Yet, her spirit was unyielding. In the month before her passing, she filled her home with color and warmth, repainting the entire main floor and ceiling of her apartment, a testament to her vibrant spirit and determination.

Pam was known for her candid and straightforward manner, her infectious sense of humor, and her immense kindness. Though she may not have had much, she always found ways to give—whether through childminding, pet-sitting, or lovingly baking and cooking for those she cared about.

Pam, you are deeply missed. Though you have left this world, your spirit will forever resonate in our hearts. Rest easy with the angels, Little Sister, until we meet again. Your love and light will never fade.
