It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Helen Isabel Morton of Fort St. John on October 2, 2024.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children:  Cheryl (John), Dale (Debbie), Shelley (Garry), Gloria (Hickman), Dwayne (Tracy), Karen (Dee) and Greg (Terra); grandchildren: Stephan, Joanne, Marc, Tracey, Troy, Sharra, Alena, Calvin, Madison and Kaelie ; step grandchildren:  Chas and TJ and many great grandchildren and great step grandchildren. 

She will also be dearly missed by her friends at the North Peace Seniors Housing Society, Apartment 4. 

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Kenneth Morton her parents Ella and Horace Wilson, her sister Annie in 1985, her brother Leonard in 1996, her sister Leith in 1998, her sister Grace in 2005, her brother Lloyd in 2017, her sister Fern in 2017, her sister Alice in 2022 and her brother Ken in 2023.  Also predeceased by Nicole in 2022.

Helen was born in Balcarres, SK.  She met Ken and they were married on November 5, 1951.  They left Saskatchewan and headed west as Ken was working in the oilpatch.  They settled in Fort St. John.  Helen worked as a bar waitress at the Royal Canadian Legion and as a school bus driver. 

A Celebration of Helen’s life will be held on October 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion 10103-105 Avenue, Fort St. John.
