Barbara Louise Soundy, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 1, 2024, in Fort Nelson, British Columbia, with her daughter Shelly Moberg by her side. She was born on November 28, 1947, in Toronto, Ontario, she was the eldest of 4 children to her parents George and Hazel.

Barbara is survived by her loving daughters, Shellyann Moberg (Bob) and Valerie Soundy, her devoted sisters, Beverley Ryan (William Sr-Deceased) and Janet Lumb, her nephews William Ryan Jr. (Linda) and David Ryan (Daisy) ,her cherished grandchildren, Patrick (Tara), Edward (Carla), and Derek (Tabitha), and her adored great-grandchildren, Dawson, Alyka, Lennon, Lilliana, Carter, and JJ. Her presence in their lives brought immeasurable joy and her memory will forever be treasured. She will be remembered by lifelong friends, too numerous to mention.

She was predeceased by her brother Frank Lumb, her father George Lumb, her mother Hazel Louise Lumb, and her former spouse Robert (Bob) Soundy.

Throughout her working years, Barbara dedicated herself to her career as an accountant. She was a wizard with numbers and found great fulfillment in her work. Her dedication and passion for her profession inspired those around her and left a lasting impact on her colleagues and clients.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Barbara was known for her kind and compassionate nature. She possessed a warmth and empathy that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love for travel allowed her to explore new places and create lasting memories with her loved ones. As a devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, she found joy in cheering for her team and celebrating their victories.

Barbara's love for literature was evident in her passion for reading, and she found solace and inspiration within the pages of her favorite books. Her favorite author was James Patterson and she could read an entire book within a day. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, and she embraced the spirit of the season with unwavering enthusiasm. She delighted in the traditions of the holiday, and her love for Hallmark Christmas movie marathons was a cherished part of her festive celebrations.

In accordance with Barbara's wishes, no formal service will be held, and her remains will be cremated. Her family will gather at a later date for a "Celebration of Life" to honor her memory and fulfill her request to spread her ashes in a special place she had chosen. The love and memories shared by those who knew her will continue to be a source of comfort and strength as they navigate this profound loss.

Barbara Louise Soundy's legacy of love, compassion, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the light she brought into the lives of those around her. May her spirit find peace and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
