Janine Inez Filmer

1957 ~ 2024

Janine Inez Filmer of Taylor, BC, passed away August 28, 2024, with her family by her side after a treacherous battle with cancer.  Janine was born the seventh of nine children, in Richmond, BC to Raymund and Ellen Nicol, on August 11, 1957. 

In the summer of 1977, Janine married her high school sweetheart Brad Filmer.  Shortly after Brad’s university graduation, they embarked on their adventurous two-year plan to head up north which instead saw them setting up their roots in Taylor, BC in 1979. 

Janine leaves behind her loving family that miss her dearly.  She is survived by her devoted husband Brad, her children Sarah (Matthew), Jessica (Ryan), Joshua (Laura) and the absolute pride of her life her grandchildren Ryan, Lucas, Abigail, Madeline, Romeo, Elsa, Declan, Molly, Layna, Tobias, Isaac, Ridge and Baby Filmer.  Janine will also be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Greg (Linda), Phillip, Louise (Art), Stephen (Katharine), Matthew, Teresa (David), Della (Willy), sister in-law Lori (Greg), brother-in-law Mark (Bev), her aunt Diane, along with many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her brother Raymund, her sister-in-law Robyn and nephews Ben and Nathan.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Nantel of Vancouver and Dr. Wright of Fort St John, for going above and beyond in the level of care that they provided to Janine.
