Calvin John Havard

1955 - 2024

 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce his passing on June 12, 2024, in Fort St. John, British Columbia. Calvin John Havard, known to many as Cal, was born on September 28, 1955, in the picturesque town of Kitimat, British Columbia. He was the fourth child of his loving parents, Walter and Emma Havard. Calvin was predeceased by his beloved parents, Walter and Emma Havard.

Calvin leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his three sons, Chad Havard, Garnet Havard, and Samuel Havard, as well as his adored granddaughter, Silva Havard.

Throughout his life, Calvin was a dedicated and loving father, always putting his family first. His sons and granddaughter were the light of his life, and he took great pride in watching them grow and succeed. He was a pillar of strength and support for his family, and his absence will be keenly felt.

Calvin was a proud resident of Chetwynd and a former resident of Dawson Creek. He was a man of many passions and interests, with a particular love for coaching hockey. He dedicated countless hours to mentoring young athletes, instilling in them the values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. His impact on the local hockey community will be remembered for years to come.

In addition to coaching, Calvin had a deep love for both hockey and football. He found joy in the camaraderie of the sports, and his enthusiasm was infectious to all who knew him. When he wasn't on the ice or the field, Calvin could often be found enjoying the tranquility of nature, whether it was fishing by a serene lake or hunting in the rugged wilderness.

One of Calvin's most cherished affiliations was with the Silver Tips Old Timer Hockey Club, where he formed lasting friendships and shared countless memories with fellow enthusiasts. His passion for the sport and the camaraderie of his teammates brought him immense happiness, and he treasured every moment spent on the ice.

Calvin John Havard will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his community, and his zest for life. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
