Elliott was born on January 15, 1936 in Poplar Hill, Alberta to Wilfred and Marie Nilson. He married Bernice Brekkaas on January 4, 1957 and they made Fort St John their home in 1964. Elliott had a passion for trucking. He was an owner-operator and worked in the oil and gas industry in BC and Alberta. His love of the road kept him in his truck until he was 75 years young. He knew the roads of BC and Alberta extremely well and had many great stories to tell of his adventures. The only thing that rivaled his love of trucking was his love of family. Elliott was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle to many and will be fondly remembered for his kind and gentle nature.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 1:00 pm, at the Charlie Lake Community Church, 12731 244 Road, Charlie Lake, BC. A reception will follow at the church. All guests are welcome to attend and celebrate Elliott’s life.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Fort St John Hospital for their gentle compassion and care in his final days. Memorial donations may be made to the Fort St John Hospital Foundation in Elliott’s honour - Click Here to donate.
