Obituary of Bobby Vey George Samounty
Bobby Vey George Samounty
1982 - 2024
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Bobby Vey George Samounty on February 5th, 2024.
Bobby was an amazing and fantastic father to his sons, Cayl and Shay. A loving son and best friend to his mom, Janeen Day and a great friend to his step-dad, Kevin Day. A son to be proud of for his dad, Vey Samounty. A very caring, supportive and loving brother to Brent Day and Tasha Samounty. An amazing best friend, cousin but realistically more like a brother to Scott Schmidt, an uncomparable uncle to Elliot and brother-in-law to Crystal. A caring nephew to Brian and Denise Schmidt. He will be missed by his Aunt's, Kim and Brenda and Uncle Curtis, cousins Ryan, Sarah, Chris and Troy, and many more family members and friends that we would love to mention but Bobby would not want me to write a novel although writing was a great passion of his. You know who you are, as do we and how important you were to him.
Bobby was a truly amazing man, a shining light with an amazing smile and will be missed by so many.
Bobby was born in Kitchener, Ontario on February 22nd, 1982. We moved to Fort St. John in 1994 and of course Scott followed in 2004, where their bond contined to grow to be the amazing friendship they had.
His absolute favorite pastime was snuggling with his boys watching movies. His sons were his life, his everything and I know everyone is joining us in surrounding them with love and support as Bobby moves onto his next journey.
In keeping with Bobby's wishes, we will not be having a service, but a celebration of his life followed by an outdoor gathering. It will be in early June to allow everyone time to make arrangements to come share their memories. Date will be finalized soon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the boys directly through Scott Schmidt at scotts1012@hotmail.com as per Bobby's wishes. This account will be managed by Scott and is to help them in their education to continue on their career path that Bobby was helping them with, or to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation - Click Here to donate.
