Dad's passing is a deeply emotional and profound experience. It marks the end of a significant chapter, leaving behind a void that I often struggle to fill. Memories of shared moments, lessons learned and the understanding of Dad's enormous strength will endure. He was simply a "tough old bird" that did it his way.
His legacy to me is to have pride in hard work and a job well done.
There are numerous people who were so kind and sympathetic that it is impossible to name the all. But I am so very thankful for Dr. Wright and his incredible relationship to my father. We endured a lengthy period as Dad continued to deteriorate but his trust in Dr. Wright was unshakable.

Norm Kindrat was the 7th of 8 children and the last one of his siblings to die. He often expressed to me he was ready to "go home". He had 6 brothers and 1 sister, and they always had a great time when they could be together. I couldn't understand all the Ukranian, but it was clear they had good memories, and always amazing food and "tradition".
Norm was married to Marjorie (Gaddy) for 28 years and has 4 grown children, 9 grand-children, and 16 great-grands. Norm also enjoyed 30+ years with Olive, a gracious companion and friend. Those were happy years for dad.
Dad was tough and strong, which helped him to live to be 90 years old. When the body was getting weaker, it seemed dad had the will to work through his pain and difficulties and get back into his life. He was not used to being weak or sick, and was not always patient with himself or those trying to assist him, but he did always say thank you and we never left the room without him saying "love you".
We brought dad to Kamloops this May for the funeral of his daughter Jeanne. He was in pain both physically and mentally. It was a tough trip, but it was important for him to say good-bye.
He loved his farm, loved the smell of open land and was definitely not a friend of Oil Companies.
I have a picture in my mind of dad on the combine, signaling for us to drive the grain truck under the auger for him to empty. It was a good heavy crop and his smile was bright in a dirty face.
In the spring, when opening the land and getting ready for seeding a field or his awesome garden, he was ready on time, equipment ready, seed ready, fueled up and ready at the sunrise.
Dads farm was ransacked many times in the last 10 years by un-named riff/raff. The damages and thefts took the starch out of an 80 year old man. These varmints' stole every thing they could and came back repeatedly. I am somewhat thankful that dad was never able to shoot them, but he sure planned to.
The last 4 years we saw alot of dad, the ups and downs, the good and the bad. He was a real person and wanted to live on his own terms, with dignity and courage. He was strong, even at his weakest moments, and tender when you least expected it. Dad was black and white and straight forward, no apologies and seemingly, no regrets.
I didn't really understand my dad, but I do understand he did his best with what he knew to do, and that is enough for me.
