Dave Thomas Mathieson

1948 - 2023

Dave was born in Vancouver, BC on November 14, 1948.  He grew up in Vancouver, leaving in late 1960 to go north.  Dave worked for CN for 7 years, living in Watson Lake.

Dave met his wife, Janet, and they married in 1977.  In 1979, they moved to Fort St. John.  He loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing, hunting, and skidooing. Dave started working at Inland Kenworth in June 1979, working there for 25 years until his retirement in 2003.  His health started to decline with COPD and dementia starting to show up, slowly taking his life.  Dave passed away peacefully on December 5, 2023.  

Dave leaves to moun his wife of 45 years, Janet; daughter Charlene (Troy) Mathieson; grandchildren, Allyssa Mathieson and Crispen (Bud) Schmidt; son Andrew Mathieson; granddaughter Drew Mathieson; and Aunt Ann Leong.

Dave was predeceased by his parents, Jenny and Thomas Mathieson; Aunt Baba, Aunt Elisabeth, Uncle Alex, and Aunt Marion.

Dave was cremataed and has requested no service.  He wanted his family and friends to enjoy a luncheon and tell stories. 

He is now resting.  He will be missed.

 

SERVICE UPDATE

A Luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the Taylor Community Hall.  Bring your appetite and your stories to celebrate the life of Dave Mathieson.

 

 

It is with sadness that we share the passing of David Mathieson. 

David was born on November 14, 1948 in Vancovuer, BC and passed away on December 5, 2023 in Fort St. John, BC at 75 years of age.

A service will be held at a later date.
