Obituary of Linda Mary Guillet
Linda Mary Guillet, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, in Fort St. John, BC, just days shy of her 76th birthday. Born on August 8, 1950, in Dawson Creek, BC, Linda was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth, laughter, and zest for life.
Linda was the cherished daughter of her late parents, and she grew up in a family that instilled in her the values of hard work, and providing for family. She carried these values into her own family life, raising three children: Theresa, Tammy, and Chris. Linda’s home was filled with the delightful aroma of her home-cooked meals. She was known for her culinary skills, often preparing feasts that brought family and friends together around the table.
In addition to her role as a mother, Linda was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Kristen, Erin, Jenna, Megan, Rialey, Braiden, and DJ. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in sharing her love of life with them. Linda was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren.
Linda was a woman of many passions. She loved camping, where she found peace in the great outdoors, surrounded by nature’s beauty. Berry picking was a favorite pastime, and she could often be found in the bush, gathering nature’s bounty to can and share with her loved ones. Linda had a green thumb and took great pride in her garden. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious, and she approached each day with energy and creativity.
Music was another significant part of Linda’s life. She had a deep love for country music and could often be found dancing at music festivals, particularly the jamborees. Linda was also known for her competitive nature, especially when it came to card games. A ruthless card player, she brought laughter and friendly rivalry to every game night.
Linda was an active member of the Fort St. John seniors hall, where she formed lasting friendships and found a sense of community. She was surrounded by many spiritual brothers and sisters who shared the same hope of the paradise earth to come.
In her own words, Linda once said, “All I wanna do is go camping and dancing.”. She lived life to the fullest, embracing every opportunity to create memories with her loved ones.
Linda is preceded in death by her late husband, Dennis, who was her partner in life. She carried his memory in her heart every day.
As we gather to celebrate Linda’s life, a tea will be announced in the coming weeks, where family and friends can come together to share stories, laughter, and love.
