Obituary of Alta Lorraine Kaiser
Lorraine Kaiser, loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed peacefully into the loving arms of her saviour, Jesus on Friday, June 26, 2026, She was greeted by great-granddaughter Emberleigh. She departed this world at home with her daughter Cheri by her side with husband Dale nearby. Lorraine was born in Worland, Wyoming, USA on October 15, 1935.
She lived 90 years, a long life. There were not many things she wanted to do in life that she didn’t get done. She loved to travel and learn. She had a knack for languages including English, Spanish and Japanese. She managed to get to the far east, Japan in particular, and New Zealand as well as across Canada and the United States. She loved the arts, both to see and create, with skills in pottery, stained and cut glass, origami, and crafts of all types. She played a bit of organ as well.
She loved to decorate and entertain, often having people for dinners at special times of the year. She was never one to turn down a party, especially if she could decorate the venue!
She taught high school and junior high until she retired at age 62. She had a love of books which showed up in her years as a junior high school librarian. She taught many subjects but mainly business education and English. When the use of the typewriter was replaced by the computer she forged ahead and learned the new technology.
Her Christian faith was a more private side of her life. She believed in Jesus Christ as her Saviour and Lord. She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Worland Wyo. On April 9th, 1944. She and Dale were active members of churches wherever they lived , two of which they helped found. She was often on the lookout for those who were away from family or needed some quiet support.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Dale, her two children Kevin (Gloria) Kaiser, and Cheri (Lance) Ollenberger. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jared (Lansea), Kurt, Nicole (Jerrid), Lauren (Zach), Leigh and 4 great grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Lorraine’s life is being held on July 3, 2026, at 11:00 am at North Peace Mennonite Brethren Church in Fort St. John, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Smile Canada (an organization that Lorraine felt compassion for.)
