Obituary of Lee Joseph Pizzey

LEE JOSEPH PIZZEY

1956 – 2026

 

It is with sadness that the family of Lee Joseph Pizzey announces his passing on June 14, 2026, at the age of 70.

 

Born in High Prairie, Alberta, in 1956, Lee lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, laughter, and a deep commitment to the people he loved.

 

Family was always at the centre of Lee’s life. He believed parents should leave the next generation better off than themselves and often said, “If you can’t raise them better than you, don’t bother.” It was more than a saying—it was a principle he lived by. He wanted his children to have opportunities he never had and devoted his life to giving them every chance at a better future.

 

Lee spent much of his life behind the wheel of a dump truck, a job he genuinely loved and one he was exceptionally good at. He took pride in his work, believed in doing things properly, and earned the respect of those who worked alongside him.

 

Known for his loyalty, generosity, and sense of humour, Lee loved to joke, tease, and make people laugh. His unmistakable laugh could fill a room and was often followed by a grin that let everyone know he was up to something.

 

In his younger years, he could often be found on a ball diamond or cruising the backroads in search of adventure. He enjoyed baseball, classic vehicles, and a cold beer shared with family and friends. In later years, some of his greatest joys came from cheering on his grandchildren from the stands and spending time with those he loved. Whether with family, friends, or coworkers, he had a way of bringing lightness to everyday moments and making people feel welcome.

 

Lee will be lovingly remembered by his son, Shane Pizzey; his daughter, Jody Brown; and his cherished grandchildren, Connor Brown, Brooklyn Brown, Paige Brown, and Halston Pizzey. He is also survived by his wife, Heather Pizzey, from whom he was separated, as well as many extended family members and friends.

 

Though he is gone, Lee’s influence lives on in the family he loved, the friendships he valued, and the many lives he touched along the way. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
