Obituary of Maria Engelbert

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and Oma, Maria (Miep) Engelbert, on May 31, 2026, at the age of 87.

Miep leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, Joe Engelbert; her daughters, Yvonne (Kevin) Pearson and Michelle Engelbert (Mark Schmidt); her grandchildren, Rebecca (Brendan) Leflar, Halsey (Demir) Razumovic, Tanner Pearson (Monika Lucas), and Paige Pearson (Griffin Troup); and her great-granddaughter, Payton Razumovic. She was predeceased by her son, Watson Engelbert.

She was truly one of a kind, and no one could ever fill the place she held in her family’s hearts. Proud, outspoken, and deeply loving, her spirit lives on in the many lives she touched, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A service to lay Miep to rest will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort St. John on Monday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m
