Obituary of Betty Lamothe
Elizebeth (Betty) Lamothe (September 3,1942- May 16, 2026)
It is with very sad hearts that the family of Betty Lamothe announces her passing on May 16, 2026, in Prince George, BC, at the age of 83, with her children by her side.
Betty was born on the family homestead in Webster, AB, the eighth of twelve children. She lived in the Peace Country her whole life, eventually settling in Fort St. John with her husband Gregg Lamothe.
Betty was a longtime resident of Fort St. John, BC, and was deeply rooted in her faith, family and community. A devoted member of the Catholic Church of the Resurrection, she lived her life guided by compassion, kindness and quiet service to others. Her faith was not only something she believed in, but something she lived each day through her generosity, encouragement and unwavering care for those around her.
Betty’s faith was at the very center of her life. She was a deeply, devout Catholic woman who truly loved Jesus and his mother Mary. Betty lived her faith through action. She was committed to helping those in need and quietly doing whatever needed to be done. She was the little lady who did so much through her quiet little ways. Betty was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League for 56 years, recently receiving the CWL Maple Leaf Service Pin for her outstanding service.
Betty was known for her love of gardening and the outdoors, and her dedication to living a healthy and active lifestyle. She was truly a ball of energy, always on the go and running circles around everyone. She touched countless lives through her selflessness and generosity, always willing to lend a hand and never asking for anything in return.
Betty was a woman whose love for her family knew no bounds. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her heart, and she showed her devotion through unwavering loyalty, constant support, and countless acts of kindness both big and small. She took great pride in every milestone, offered comfort during difficult times, and created a family rooted in unconditional love, faith, and togetherness.
Betty’s legacy is one of faith, family, love, humility and service. Her family and friends will remember her gentle strength, warm heart, tireless energy, and the example she set through a lifetime devoted to caring for others.
She leaves behind her loving family: children - Connie, Anthony (Holly), and Craig (Tina); grandchildren – Matthew (Raegan), Justin (Keri), and Jarrett (Steven); great-grandchildren – Logan, Georgia, Brooke and Walker;
