I'm very sorry for your loss. Al was a wonderful, funny, and kind man. I have myriad good memories of him. As kids, in Ventures, he took us camping on an island in the Peace River, and at a sleepover he arranged for us at the school he taught at in Taylor, we got to rent videos. Unknowingly we slipped in a copy of Showgirls with more age-appropriate fare, and watched it in the library. He made it very clear that that was NOT OK, but I could sense a part of him still found it funny.
Getting to know Al in adult life was fun too, like the time he was visiting in Vancouver, and took several of us to the Irish Heather, where we managed to get one of those cozy booths at the old location, and he introduced me to Tamdhu scotch, which at the time was a very reasonable price point, but still delicious.
I always enjoyed visiting with Al, and Noreen throughout my life, and am sad to see him go, but glad they are reunited. Wishing all the best for him and offering my deepest condolences to the whole family.
