Ella Look

1933 - 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Oma, Ella Look, whose strength and love for her family touched all who knew her. She lived a life rooted in faith, devotion, and resilience, leaving behind a legacy that will continue through the generations she cherished so deeply.

Ella was born in 1933 in Friedenstal, Bessarabia. As a young adult, she made the journey to move to Canada with her family, where she built a new life and met the love of her life, Erich Look, her husband of 64 years. Together, they created a home filled with love, resilience, and devotion to family.

She will be greatly missed by her loving daughter, Irene Trockstad; her grandchildren, Janny (Simon) Lavoie and Jim (Lillibeth) Trockstad; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Emma Lavoie and Elijah Lavoie. She also leaves behind her dear brother, Emanuel (Ruth) Joachim, along with extended family and friends who were fortunate to share in her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Erich Look; her daughter, Loretta Rose Look; her brothers, Emil Joachim and Herbert Joachim; and her parents, Gotthilf and Emma Joachim. Though she endured great loss throughout her life, she carried on with resilience, grace, and an unwavering love for her family.

Ella will be remembered for her nurturing heart, her wisdom, and the comfort she brought to those around her. Whether through a warm meal, a kind word, or simply her presence, she made people feel cared for and at home.

Her memory will live on in the stories we share, the traditions she passed down, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever held in our hearts.

A funeral service for Ella will be held on Tuesday, April 28th at 1:00 p.m. at Hamre’s Funeral Chapel.

After the service, Ella will be interred in Woodlawn Cemetery alongside Erich.

A tea will follow the interment back at Hamre’s Funeral Chapel.
