Obituary of Lynda Jones
Lynda Helene Jones
September 3, 1961 - April 1, 2026
Lynda was born in Berwick, Nova Scotia and passed away, peacefully in Fort St John hospital with big brother Ken (her “hero”) by her side.
Lynda was predeceased by her mother, Helene Marie Belobaba (nee Gendron from Aylmer, PQ) and father, Earle Leroy Burns Jones from Berwick, Nova Scotia. Her father was a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force and her childhood involved moving frequently. Places that she lived were Marville, France; Lahr, Germany; Goose Bay, Labrador; Kings County, Nova Scotia; Kelowna; Vancouver; Taylor and she finally settled in Penticton, BC where she lived for the past 25 years.
Lynda worked at the Kelowna Daily Courier, Pacific Press and the job she enjoyed the most was security at the Vancouver Airport.
Lynda loved animals, especially cats, and they all loved her back. She always had at least one! Jake was a very sweet cat who was her constant companion for the past 12 years - if he wasn’t following her, he was sitting on her. She was more comfortable in a house full of cats than a room full of people.
Lynda is survived by her older brother, Ken Jones (wife, Sandra) of Taylor, BC and younger sister Monique Jones of Osoyoos, BC. She will be greatly missed.
