Obituary of Victoria Elizabeth MacQuarrie

Victoria “Vicki” Macquarrie, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at Peace Villa Residential Care in Fort St. John, British Columbia, at the age of 95. Born December 14, 1930, in Parkerview, Saskatchewan, Vicki lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family.

Vicki was the devoted wife of Roy Macquarrie, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love that spanned decades. Together they built a life filled with joy, resilience, and unwavering support for one another. Their partnership was a testament to the strength of love and a lasting inspiration for family and friends.

She leaves behind her children Corinne De Lange (Peter), Mae Vint (Doug), and Brian Black (Lil). She was predeceased by her beloved son Gordon Black. Vicki was also the proud grandmother of Linda Walter (Wes) and Barb Davey (Paul), and a cherished great-grandmother to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and pride. Time spent with family meant everything to her, and she took great happiness in watching each generation grow and thrive.

Vicki had many passions that filled her days with joy. She loved puzzles and could often be found immersed in crosswords or carefully placing pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Her creative spirit shone through her painting, where she expressed her artistic side and brought colour into the world around her. She also cherished life’s simple pleasures, especially going out for coffee and people-watching, always finding enjoyment in the everyday moments and stories of those around her.

Her home was always open to her family, and she took great delight in hosting gatherings filled with laughter, warmth, and love. Vicki had a special way of making everyone feel welcome. Her warm hugs and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Throughout her life, Vicki showed remarkable strength and resilience. She faced challenges with grace and dignity, always finding ways to lift others up even during difficult times. Her kindness, compassion, and generous spirit touched many lives and will continue to live on through the memories of those who loved her.

In her final days, Vicki was surrounded by the love of her granddaughters Linda and Barb, along with her daughter-in-law Betty Lou, who provided comfort and support during this time Vicki will be laid to rest alongside her beloved son Gordon Black at Hillside Cemetery in Kamloops, British Columbia.

Her life was one filled with love, laughter, and the deep bonds of family. She leaves behind a lasting impact on all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved. She will be deeply missed.
