Obituary of Ronald Allan Folk
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, Ron Folk. Ron ws born on May 31st, 1954 in Murrayville, BC and passed away March 1st, 2026 in Fort St John, BC at the age of 71.
Ron and his family re-located to the Fort St John area when he was 4 years old and they settled on their new family farm in Cecil Lake, BC. Ron had a love for the Peace Country and would spend the remainder of his life here. He spent his childhood working on the family farm and begun truck swamping for Ron Grieves while in his mid teens. This work would lead Ron into a long and happy career as a tank truck operator, a lot of it spent as an owner/operator for Husky Transport.
Ron loved nothing more than family. He met Jeanette in his teens and they married when he was 18 going on to have two sons, Terry and Bob. Between the Folk and Scheck clans, Ron was to be blessed with large extended family which brought him so much joy. Ron could always be found at the many family gatherings playing guitar, singing songs, telling tall tales and laughing with his people.
The only thing bigger than his love for his family was Ron's heart. He was the kind of man that would always give whatever he could for the benifit of any of his cherished friends and loved ones and was always happier for having done so. The world is a poorer place in his absence.
Ron is predeceased by his parents, Mike and Dorothy Folk, siblings, Cliff (Donna), Ken (Elaine), Danny (Mary), Roger, Marie and Phil. He leaves to mourn his wife Jeanette, sons Terry and Bob, grand Daughters Hailey and Camryn, siblings Rob (Ruth), Diane (Shawn), Darlene (Bob), Brian (Lisa), Doreen (Geoff), Don (Roxane), Steven (Christina), Marge (Fred) and countless friends and family Members.
A Celebration of Life for Ron will take place on March 28th, 2026 at the Fort St John Legion at 2pm.
