Wayne Albert Leflar
May 27, 1939 – February 24, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Wayne Albert Leflar, on February 24, 2026.
Wayne was born on May 27, 1939, in Kincaid, Saskatchewan. He was the youngest of four children born to Vernon and Olive Leflar. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Eldon (Fritz) and Glen; and his beloved wife, Lea.
Wayne is lovingly remembered by his son Darren (Claire); his daughters Tracy (Steve) and Kim (Jim); his six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and his brother Roy.
Wayne was raised in Radville, Saskatchewan. At the age of 16, he moved away to begin his career in the oil and gas industry. In 1965, he settled in Fort St. John, where his future wife, Lea, joined him shortly after. Wayne and Lea were married on December 29 of that same year.
In 1975, Wayne and Bill Turecki purchased Dominion Rathole Drilling, formerly Knights Rathole Drilling. Wayne managed Dominion until 1998, when the company was sold. In 1999, he started Dominion Steel and Pipe alongside his two children, and he fully retired in 2004.
The passing of our dad has left a tremendous void in all of our lives. He was a wonderful, thoughtful, and caring man who always put his family and friends first. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life will be held April 17th, in the Legion Auditorium at 2pm.
