Antonio Dos Santos Martins
September 29, 1940 – December 18, 2025
The family of Antonio “Tony” Dos Santos Martins is deeply saddened to announce his passing on December 18, 2025, at the age of 85. Affectionately known as Big Tony, he will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tony came to Canada at the age of 18 and began a dedicated career with BC Rail. Tony started his family in Canada, while remaining closely connected to his homeland of Portugal; which he continued to visit throughout his life. Tony worked for BC Rail for 37 years and often shared stories from those years with pride. In retirement, he found great joy in tending to his garden, his favourite pastime.
There will be no service held in Canada. The family will return Tony’s ashes to Portugal, where he will be laid to rest.
