Obituary of Sandra Lee Afonso Broughton

 

 

Sandra Lee Afonso Broughton (Garcia) born on September 21, 1978, in Penticton, B.C, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in Fort Nelson, B.C. , after a courageous battle with brain cancer. 

 

Sandra was extremely grateful and amazed with all the support from her family and our friends in the community of Fort Nelson.

 

Sandra was the loving wife of Curtis and a devoted mother to her sons, Lewis and Mason. Her family was her world, and she took pride in raising her children to be nice, respectful little humans. Sandra was proud of

Lewis and Mason for growing into such wonderful young men, embodying the qualities she held dear. Sandra was quick to share her laugh with her friends and family. 

 

 

She enjoyed spending time gardening and being with her family. “You get green thumbs by having dirty knees”. 

 

In lieu of flowers, please consider planting sunflowers in Sandra's honor this spring. A celebration of Sandra's life will be held where family and friends will gather and be asked to bring their favourite story about Sandra. 

 

Sandra will be deeply missed by her husband, Curtis; her sons, Lewis and Mason; her parents Frank and Grace; her sister, Kathleen. Sandra will be missed by all members of her loving, extended family

and friends who had the privilege of knowing her.
