With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Kenneth Russel McEwen, who died on December 29, 2025, at the age of 73. He was born on July 28, 1952.

Kenneth Russell McEwen,known to many as Ken or Kenny, passed away on December 29th, 2025, in Fort St. John, BC, where he was a longtime resident. Born on July 28th, 1952 in Lloydminster, Alberta, to Marguerite Kathleen Dustow and Russell Manley McEwen. He was the youngest of seven children; (Doreen McIntyre, Jeannie Broadhead, Bill McEwen, Allan McEwen, Oliver (Buck) McEwen & Marvis Harwood.) From an early age, Ken embodied dedication, resilience, and a strong work ethic. He was known for his calm, kind, generous spirit and his willingness to help anyone who asked. Above all, he was a wonderful and amazing man who left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Ken dedicated 57 years to working across a wide range of trades and industries. Most recently, he served as a professional truck driver, logistics and equipment operator, and foreman for macro Industries on multiple major large-scale projects, including his contributions to the Trans Mountain Pipeline and the Coastal GasLink Pipeline. He took great pride in his work and in his unwavering commitment to providing for his family.

Outside of work, Ken had a deep appreciation for life's simple and meaningful pleasures. He loved football, hockey, baseball, and golfing, as well as camping, fishing and spending time outdoors. In quieter moments, he enjoyed activities that reflected his patience and steady nature such as Sudoku, model building, and jigsaw puzzles.

Ken is lovingly remembered by his spouse, Angela Simms; her children, Amanda and Curtis, and their families; his sons, Derek and Shayne, and their families; and in the cherished memory of his late son, Damien. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ken's memory to a charity of your choice.

Ken's kindness, strength, and steady presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
