Obituary of David Fehr

David Fehr
1950 ~ 2025

It is with great sadness that we share the peaceful passing of David Fehr on December 27, 2025, at Prince George Hospital.

David was born on January 8, 1950, in Burns Lake, BC, and grew up on the south side of Francois Lake in South Bank and Grassy Plains, BC. Places that shaped his deep appreciation for the outdoors and a life lived close to nature.

David is survived by his beloved life partner Norma Gammon and was a loving father to his daughter, Stacey Fehr (Matty Reader) and former son-in-law Cody Baker (Cherie Holuk), who remains a valued and loved member of the family.  He was also deeply loved and will be missed by his stepson Kirk Gammon (Jo Vanderwolf), his grandsons Alex (Kenzie St. Dennis), Jorge, and Lucas Gammon, his great grandson Rhodes Gammon-St. Dennis, his siblings Bill Fehr (Helga), Nathen Lenard (Lee Cyr), Tina Wiebe, Anna Sawchuk, Mary Friesen (Wayne), John Fehr (Jennifer). Betty Warren (Lenord Grose), Susie Disher (Bruce) and his brother-in-law Dennis Gullickson (Tracey McClung).

He was predeceased by his parents Tena and David Fehr, his sisters Nettie, Marge and Eva and his brother Andy, as well as his brothers-in-law Herb Neville, John Wiebe and Garth Warren, his sister-in-law Alta Lenard and his daughter-in-law Krista Gammon and baby Simone.

He will be fondly remembered as a quiet, kind, gentle, fun-loving and humble man with few wants in life other than the simple necessities to survive.  Honesty, integrity and principles were among his greatest strengths.

David will be remembered as a hardworking and well-respected logging and road-building equipment operator and contractor in the Lillooet-Goldbridge, BC area for many years, from the 1970’s through 2001.  After moving to Fort St. John, BC,  in 2001, he worked as an equipment operator primarily in the field of reclamation until retiring in 2010.  During his years of retirement, David enjoyed his great passion of gardening, which was evident to all with his award-winning produce.

David will be laid to rest in Fort St. John, with a Celebration of Life to be held later in the spring when weather and road conditions are more favorable.  There will be a private scattering of some of his ashes over Hyland Post in the Spatsizi Wilderness in northern BC, a place that was very special to David, where he spent time working for a hunting guide and outfitter during his young adult life.

We will miss David always and hope that he knows how much he was loved.  Our lives are richer for having had him in them.
