DAVID WILFRED McINTOSH
November 24, 1948 - December 21, 2025
Dave McIntosh passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
David Wilfred McIntosh was born, in Chilliwack, B.C. He grew u p in Calgary, Alberta.
Dave developed an independent and adventurous nature early in life. He had a great love of outdoors, and of sports. He recalled a care-free childhood and tongue in cheek described himself as a free spirit cheerfully acknowledging that sister Glenna might describe his childhood differently.
A s a young man Dave began working in seismic exploration learning from the bottom up until he ran jobs throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, the United States and eventually B.C. Later he became a landman, first in seismic and later in oil and gas. He loved his job and continued working long past retirement age because he enjoyed meeting with landowners and hearing their stories.
When Dave met Maureen, City, met Country with a resounding thud. They were married in 1996 and during the early years there were many lively "how to" discussions. In time, with characteristic good nature and a lot of advice from patient landowners Dave learned to fell trees, build fences, navigate rural water systems and complete countless other new tasks.
Dave was a talented woodworking craftsman. Some of his projects included a jewelry box, a linen chest and a full-size canoe. When their house was renovated, Dave bought wood and designed and built the wood trim. Dave had many hobbies including photography and hiking, but his favourite pastime was the time he spent at the farm. He always had a project and a vision of the next project.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Ida and Harry McIntosh.
Dave was an easy-going gentle man o f great faith who will be missed b y his wife Maureen, stepdaughter Tanalea, and grandchildren Jaimee, Braeden, Tiernan and Lochlan Hermans, sister Glenna (Pierre), nephews Chris (Lisa) and Justan (Cassie) O'Brien as well as the Cazes and Fortems families.
