It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of our beloved Richard.

Richard Rene Joseph Piché was born November 6, 1964 in Vancouver, BC and passed away November 2, 2025 in Fort St. John, BC after a courageous 13 year battle with brain cancer.

Survived by his sister Suzanne (Ken). and his brother Robert. as well as his nieces and nephews Richard, Rebecca, Joe, Dustin, Tyler and Kayla, their families and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Richard is predeceased by his parents, Rene and Elaine Piché, his brother Denis, and sister Joanne.

The family moved to Baldonnel in 1973. where Richard grew up and established lifelong friendships. Richard spent his working career in the Fort St. John area. The majority of it for BC Rail. His working career was marked by dedication and expertise, where he excelled as an equipment operator.

Richard spent many hours throughout the summer fishing on Charlie Lake. He also made a few trips to the coast for a little salmon fishing with his friends.

Richard was an avid sports fan, following baseball, golf, football, and of course hockey. His love for sports was only matched by his love for family and friends.

Richard took great pride in his home and yard of which he resided at since 1985.

Every Friday night, for 18 years was poker night at Richards house with friends. This was something he always looked forward to. Always for quarters....and showed no mercy.

Richard usually spent at least 3 different days a week either for breakfast or lunch with friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wright and all the nurses and staff at the cancer clinic in FSJ. Also, a special thanks to Richards friends who were constantly by his side in the final days.

As per his wishes, there will be no formal service, but Richard will be remembered for his warmth, humour and the countless lives he touched. As his family says, "He will be looking down, smiling, and keeping his eye on the fishing, and cheering for his Montreal Canadiens. Go Habs Go!"
