Lauraine Margaret Jones (née Haggart)

Born March 9, 1942, in Edmonton, Alberta, Lauraine passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Fort St. John, British Columbia.
She was predeceased by her parents, Benjamin and Margaret Haggart, and sister, Wendy Blonski, and is survived by her brother, Robert Haggart.
Lauraine was the beloved wife of, and survived by, Victor Melton Jones, whom she married on January 28, 1983. She was also a proud pet parent to her cherished Shih Tzu, Jones Junior (JJ).
Lauraine is survived by her loving children: Deb and her partner Wayne, and her sons Jordan and Sean; Ang and her son Brendan; Penny and her partner Brett, and their children Ty and Brittney; Melton and his wife Debbie, and their daughters Christy, Jenifer, and Stephanie; Lonny and his children Patricia and Chad; and Angie and her husband John, and their daughter Julia.
Additionally, Lauraine leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Lauraine's life was filled with remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication to her family. In 1975, she founded Allied Answering Service Limited, becoming a true pioneer for women in business in the Peace Region at a time when there were few. She successfully operated the business until her retirement in 2007, after a career of hard work, perseverance, and success.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lauraine was a member of the Portage Mountain Yacht Club for 37 years, where she formed lasting friendships and cherished memories. She and Victor were honored with lifetime memberships in 2009, a testament to their commitment to the club and its members. Lauraine had a passion for fishing, cooking, and campfires up the lake.
Lauraine will be remembered as a fun-loving, humorous, and creative host of countless birthdays, holidays, celebrations, and Friday night gatherings. Her warmth, generosity, and infectious laughter brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Fort St. John Hospital staff for their compassionate care and support during Lauraine's final days.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Lauraine leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and warmth she brought to the world.
