Obituary of Paul Stanley Peterson
Paul Stanley Peterson
March 3, 1941 - September 26, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Paul Stanley Peterson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Paul was born March 3, 1941 to Peter and Laura Peterson. He grew up on a farm north of Bow Island, along with his siblings Clara, Lawrence, and Carl, and received all his schooling in Bow Island.
Paul married the love of his life, Pauline Pahl on June 18, 1960. Together they raised four children, Craig, Joy, Carol, and Darin. In 1980, Paul and Pauline, along with their two younger children, Carol and Darin, moved to Fort St. John, BC, and the farm at Mile 30 Alaska Highway became their permanent home. Paul was well known in the communities as he drove truck and did custom farming for many years. He also served in the church for many years. Paul was devoted to his beloved wife, Pauline, and to his family. To all who knew him, it was obvious that the most important thing to Paul was his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Sadly, after a courageous battle with cancer, his beloved wife, Pauline passed away April 11, 2014.
Paul got a second chance at love when he met Antiena Yelich in July of 2019, and they were married April 12 of 2020. After they were married they did some traveling together to see family and friends from Smithers, BC to St. John’s, Newfoundland, and several places in between. After Antiena developed several health issues, Paul was always there to help her with whatever she needed.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Laura Peterson, siblings, Clara Schwartzenberger, Lawrence Peterson, and Carl Peterson, as well as several extended family members.
Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife, Antiena, his children, Craig Peterson, Joy Kimmitt, Carol (Phil) Utz, Darin (Janet) Peterson, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, Robert (Jen) Yelich, Clifford (Rhonda) Yelich, Linda Yelich (Frank ), Lisa (Glenn) Hooker, and Quintin (Kao) Yelich, as well as several extended family members.
God has you in his keeping, we have you in our hearts.
There will be a memorial service for Paul on Friday, October 10th, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Fort St John Evangelical Mission with interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
