Garry Lee Huk
1957 - 2025
Garry Huk, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, passed away on September 5, 2025, at the Fort St. John Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories. Born on June 14, 1957, in Pouce Coupe, Garry was the son of Lillian and the late Walter Huk. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 47 years, Cindy, and a loving father to his children, Travis (Bonnie), Kim (Mike), and Brandon (Megan). Garry was also a proud grandfather to Rhyse, Payton, Mataya, Wyatt, Sawyer, Austin, and Levi. He is survived by his mother, Lillian, sisters Linda and Della, and brother Dale.
Garry's life was a testament to hard work and dedication. From a young age, he worked tirelessly on the family farm and assisted his father at the sawmill. His strong work ethic led him to a career in the oil patch starting with truck driving for Husky, where he met the love of his life, Cindy. Garry's career took him all over the Peace Country, driving trucks and running equipment. His expertise and passion for his work eventually led to him being a foreman and consulting, which took him across British Columbia and Alberta. His final job with Macro saw him working on a pipeline project near Chilliwack, where he took immense pride in the successful bore through the mountain.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Garry found joy in traveling with Cindy in their motorhome, exploring the beauty of the United States. They also shared a love for baseball, and in recent years, they enjoyed watching Blue Jays games together. Garry became a dedicated fan of Kirk and cheered on the team until his last day. However, his greatest joy came from watching his grandchildren grow and hearing their amusing stories.
Garry's battle with cancer over the last 18 months was a testament to his strength and resilience. He received exceptional care from Dr. Wright and the compassionate staff at the FSJ Cancer Clinic.
A time to reminisce and celebrate Garry's life will be held on Friday, September 12, from 2-4pm at the seniors hall. Garry will be laid to rest at the Montney Cemetery in a private family gathering.
Garry Huk will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family will forever be remembered. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, and his memory will continue to bring comfort and joy to those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
In honor of Garry's memory, the family requests that donations be made to the FSJ Cancer Clinic or the Kordyban Lodge in Prince George, in lieu of flowers.
